Still the baby in the family

On July 1st I will be fifty-two years old. Yet, I'm still considered a baby to my older sisters. After church on Sunday, my oldest sister ordered me to "run" to the parking lot across the street to get my car so that I could pick her up in front of the church. I had no problem with getting the car for her. She recently had knee surgery. Even after months of physical therapy, movement is still somewhat painful for her. However, I do not "run" anywhere at this point in my life. Of course I told her as much and she reminded me not to disrepect her.

It is amazing to me that to my sisters I'm still a baby. I've been married nearly twenty-two years, have a demanding career, pay a mortgage, have raised two children and am a grandmother. When do I get to be a grown woman?
